Hello there, a quick hello whilst I catch up with reading your blogs. I've noticed that Blogspot have changed some of their blogging facilities. I used to upload photos from my phone, save them in draft and log onto my laptop to write up my blog. I've found my camera and recharged the battery, I'll take some more pictures later in the week. For now here are some photos of completed projects and life before downsizing.
Knitted some dishcloths in 100% cotton - there are 10 patterns in this Leisure Arts pattern book.
Knitted an Aran weight Miss Maprle scarf (pattern on Ravelry) - these are popular on the instagram vintage following (100% acrylic) It's very cosy and warm
Another knitted Miss Marple scarf in Heritage DK 55% wool a little itchy, but not as bulky. With some Mother's Day flowers from church.
The teens have grown - Johnny (19) moved with us when we downsized to a bungalow last Summer. Nat (21) has flown the nest and bought his own house in town with his beloved. Angus has been with us over a year now. Mark said that he and Angus are both orphans now.
Plants from our old house before we moved
Finishing a few things on my 'work in progress' list since my last post:
The red cardigan/jacket that I was knitting in James Brett marble chunky yarn. It knitted up very big, I'm still considering unpicking it and starting again. I want to get a few more things finished before I start unpicking. I started another jacket in a rusty colour, so the unpicking will be waiting a while.
I finished hemming the edges on some table mats that were started a very long time ago.
Another wash cloth in a bright pink cotton yarn, this was a Christmas present for my Great Aunt.
I'm working on two projects to finish at the moment, with plenty of projects waiting in bags, I need to stay focused to complete anything. How about you, are you good at finishing one project before starting another?
Crocheting a coastal blanket Attic24 design, I wanted to make this blanket years ago but got busy with first the Moorland one and then the Woodland one (both Lucy's designs). I'm over halfway now.
Knitting Socks
Reading I'm reading Miss Read - Village Diary and I picked up 4 library books. My aim is to read one book a week.
We recently went back to our old church, myself and 2 other ladies are planning some social activities, approximately one a month. Fun things like games night with Fish & Chips, walks & talent evenings. I'm still working part time and am learning it's not all about endless lists at home. Life is to be enjoyed too and ironically as I sit typing on my laptop... less information overload is my preference. Having information at the touch of 'my phone' leaves me with a choice - keep on scrolling or put it down and live. It's a conscious decision to read that book, Knit those socks, Crochet that blanket, Walk the dog etc.
All the best and have a good week all 😃
Do go and look at Sophie's blog, she's starting a (WW2) food ration month 8th April - 8th May.

what a lovely update from you!! Blogger loves to switch things around and I skillfully am able to keep up with the changes. We started looking at churches since we moved to a new area.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen, I'm sure I'll get there with practice. All the best with church hunting. www.michellelesley.com has a church finder if that helps. I found her on instagram, she lives in the US I think x
DeleteWell that's brought us up to date with all your goings on, haha. Life can speed past but it's nice to blog about things so there's a record of what we've been up to. Looking forward to hearing more.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo you're right, life goes too fast and blogging helps Cx
